A little about Debbie and Joe Belcher, owners of
The Backstreet's Waterfront Deli, Backstreet Cafe, Backstreet Java
                                  and The Pointe Pastry Shoppe.
Like the fine Michigan wines they sell Deb and Joe just get better with time.
They met at a “Muer” restaurant in Northville in 1987 and between them have over 50 years of experience in Pastry making, fine dining and catering.
They have been creators and managers of dining experiences at several prestigious and well known establishments like:
Backstreet's Waterfront Deli (Vantage Point-Maritime Center)
    The Backstreet Café (SC4 Kitchen)
Backstreet Java (SC4 Atrium-Center Campus Building)

    Superior Backstreet Deli
    The Pointe Pastry Shoppe
    The Ritz Carlton

    Northville Charley’s
    The Detroit Athletic Club
    The University Club of Detroit
    Sparkey Herbert’s in Grosse Pointe
Jack’s Waterfront in St. Clair Shores

Their first business together was The Pointe Pastry Shoppe & Deli in Harrison Twp.
Est. in 2005 where they were voted “Best of the Best” Bake Goods in Macomb County.
Five years later they moved here to Port Huron to open The Backstreet Deli
where they could expand their menu, seating and be closer to family.
In June of 2011 they opened the Backstreet Cafe as the food service at St. Clair Community College (SC4) and in March 2012 they opened Backstreet Java which is their coffee bar located at SC4. Now March of 2013 we move to the Waterfront at Vantage Point inside the Maritime Center.

They enjoy being Port Huron’s Mom & Pop Lunch Spot !

Joe has a Culinary Arts Degree as well as a Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
He trained under Chef Richter and has 20 years of experience creating and serving some
of the finest melt-in-your-mouth baked goods and lunches you will ever taste.

Debbie with her Business & Communications Degree has trained under the
Culinary Gold Medalist Winner, Chef Bill Wolf at Sparkey Herbert’s.
She spent many years managing and catering hundreds of functions from formal
private residential events to lavish cruises on board the yacht “Helene”.

Debbie and Joe opened The Backstreet Deli in June 2010, blending their experience to create a one of a kind Old Fashioned Deli that is full of Michigan products.  From the finest baked goods and Michigan wines to fresh made-to-order Deli Sandwiches, Grilled Reuben’s & Homemade Chili.  Now with the Waterfront Deli open March 2013 we have fresh wonderful food with a beautiful view!
